He is a bush balladeer inspired by the poetry of Henry Lawson and Banjo Paterson. He is Slim Dusty, a symbol of Australia, an Australian Legend.

Born David Kirkpatrick in Kempsey, NSW, in 1927, he adopted the name Slim Dusty as a 10-year-old dreaming of stardom.
