The Bunyip is an enormous blue and yellow creature who emerges from a river in the forest. He has one eye and is covered in barnacles, starfish and other creatures. His voice is so loud even a whisper can shake the leaves from a gum tree.

The Fairy glitters and sparkles, shimmers and shines. She lights the way for Sam and Naomi and eats blackberries. Every century or so the Fairy visits Earth from her home

The Gnome is a small golden figure decorated in jewels that make him shimmer with pink and silver. He brandishes a short silver sword, has a squashed face and little black currant eyes. He demands gold and diamonds, rubies and opals, pearls and more from the travellers. What

The beautiful, ethereal Sprite is the guardian of the spring. She dances like a breeze and dresses in leaves. The sprite decides who can have the magic water from the spring.
