Commemorative Issue

Christmas 2003

Australia
Since the first Christmas stamps were issued in Australia in 1957 there have been many depictions of the traditional Christmas story. This year, the Christmas stamps were designed by Indigenous artist Sally Morgan. With her distinctive style and characteristic use of brilliant colour Morgan has created a joyous set of stamps with a uniquely Australian character.
