13th European Cup for women athletic champion teams

:

The idea of this institution was agreed upon in February of 1981 by the Italian Dr Paolo Fumante and the rst games took place later in that same year at Naples in Italy with the participation of 8 countries. Since then and until today, every year various European countries host these games, which are organized by the International Organizing committee. The right to participate falls on the Track Champion Teams from European Countries of the previous year. In the last three years (1990-1992) the games have been taking place consecutively in Austria, Spain, and Italy with the participation of around 5000 women athletes from 20 European Countries. Cyprus will welcome the 13th Games of this cup, which will take place at the Tsirion Stadium on the 5.6.1993 with the participation of 23 countries. These games are organized by the Athletic Club "TA OLYMPIA" which had its centenary anniversary in 1992. The champion team of this club will represent Cyprus in these games.

The Eightieth Anniversary of Scouting in Cyprus

The Eightieth Anniversary of Scouting in Cyprus

:

The Scouts of Cyprus conclude 80 years of scouting activity and social achievement. In this period they have offered much, both in times of peace and in times of hardship, especially in the last 30 years. Many activities of various Ministries, Organizations, Associations and Clubs have had an eager response to their calls for the offer of services and co-operation. The word Scout has become synonymous with the concept of help to society. Scouting, a complete pedagogical system, helps the children and the young with games, life in the country, the useful pastimes and the feeling of individual and collective responsibility to become good citizens. The Scouts of Cyprus are organized into 9 scouting regions with more than 4500 members in 1993. This body continues its ascendance, is worthy of respect and constitutes a select member of the world scouting family.

Water Skiing - The Moufflon Encouragement Cup

Water Skiing - The Moufflon Encouragement Cup

:

Water Skiing began many years ago in Famagusta as a sea-port just for experience and fun. The founding of the Athletic Water Ski Federation has been decided by the Cyprus Athletic Association in 1988. The philosophy of the training follows the approach that the more time it takes for an athlete to succeed the more he will finally perform and thus the peak of his performance will last longer. In 1993 the "Moufflon Encouragement Cup" will take place in Limassol from the 20-22 August with the participation of 6 countries.
