Commemorative Issue

NTNU Centenary/DKNVS 250th Anniversary

The year was 1760 and the place was Trondheim. The date is not known. The founding of the Trondheim Society was probably a modest affair, initiated by Bishop Johan Ernst Gunnerus, headmaster Gerhard Schonning and historian Peter Friedrich Suhm. The Society received royal recognition in 1767 and was renamed Det Kongelige Norske Videnskabers Selskab

  The company

  The building is an architectural drawing of the main university building at Gloshaugen in Trondheim. In the foreground an engineering drawing of a propeller and the world famous Ugelstad balls.
